The Grande Maumelle Sailing Club is focused on providing junior sailors the opportunity to improve their saiing skills so they can enjoy this wonderful sport for a lifetime.
Below is an overview of each of the events offered to children 7 to 16. Go to the Junior Program link for more details.
Junior Learn to Sail is a five day education course offered one time a year during the month of June. This course covers learning the names of boat parts, finding wind direction, learning to steer with the tiller and fundamental seamanship skills.
Junior Intermediate Sailing is a five day education course offered one time a year during the month of June. Pre-requisite: Completion of the Junior Learn to Sail course. Sailors should have basic knowledge of wind direction and parts of a sail boat. They will deepen their understanding of boat handling and seamanship.
Wednesday Nite Sailing - Sailing for fun during the summer for kids and parents.
Junior Learn to Race is offered during July and August, providing Junior Sailors the opportunity to sail and race according to the Racing Rules of Sailing.
