Here is an updated version of the longer article reflecting the postponement and new date while keeping your usual tone and structure for the GMSC News Feed.
Lake Maumelle Cleanup Rescheduled for March 14

Due to last week’s weather, our friends at Central Arkansas Water (CAW) have postponed the annual Lake Maumelle Cleanup by one week. The event will now take place on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at WestRock Landing.
If you missed the first date, this is a great second chance to join the effort to help keep Lake Maumelle clean and healthy for everyone who enjoys the water.
Volunteers will spread out around the lake from 9:00 AM until noon, collecting trash along the shoreline and nearby coves. After the cleanup, everyone will gather back at WestRock Landing for lunch and raffle prizes as a thank-you for participating.
Boats Not Required
You do not need a boat to help. Volunteers can assist from the shoreline, and there will also be boats available for those who would like to help from the water.
If you bring your own boat, there’s an added benefit—there is no launch fee for the day. Clean up in the morning, drop off your trash, enjoy lunch, and you’re free to stay and enjoy the lake afterward.
What to Bring

As sailors, we’re fortunate to call Lake Maumelle home. Pitching in for the annual cleanup is one small way we help care for the lake that gives us so many great sailing days.
