After-Race Social Host – Volunteer Responsibilities
As the Host for an After-Race Social, you’ll help create a warm, welcoming space for sailors to unwind after racing. It’s a fun, low-pressure role—and you won’t be doing it alone. Most guests are happy to lend a hand, and you can always recruit a co-host. Here’s what’s involved:
Arrive early and open the clubhouse so everything’s ready when the fleet returns.
Provide snacks for about 30 people—light bites, appetizers, or desserts are all welcome.
Set up drinks and refreshments. Most guests bring their own beverages, but feel free to offer extras if you like.
Use the club budget to cover costs—keep your receipts.
Create a cozy vibe—light the fire, set out plates and napkins, and make it feel inviting.
Greet guests and keep the energy going—no need for formal hosting, help everyone feel at home.
Light cleanup—wipe down the kitchen counters and tidy up. Most folks will pitch in without being asked.
